Studied architecture in Vienna and, from 1996 to 2001 worked as an architect, at the offices of Peter Eisenman, Tod Williams and Billie Tsien New York and later in Frankfurt with Albert Speer. She has written two children's books on Henri Matisse and Yves Klein.
In 2009 she founded NINAHOLLEIN, her own fashion label for women and children. Until 2016 the Austrian born designer has been running her own fashion store and online shop in the city of Frankfurt featuring a wide array of designs ranging from wedding gowns and evening dresses to casual wear and accessories. She initiated a number of pop up stores and fashion shows, participated in various exhibitions and lectured extensively with an emphasis on architecture and fashion, slow fashion and sustainable clothing.
Since 2018 Nina Hollein is based in New York.
